Choukini, ChaoukiLebanon, 1946
Born in 1946 in Choukine, South Lebanon. Studied at the Ecole Superieure des Beaux-Arts, Paris, from 1967 to 1972. He was awarded with the Prix for Young Sculpture in 1978. In 1984, he travelled with his wife to Japan.
From 1985 to 1987, he taught sculpture at the Lebanese University of Tripoli and then from 1989 to 1991 at the Jordanian University of Yarmouk. Since then, he lives and works in France. He participated to many exhibitions such as that at the Institut du Monde Arabe in 1991. He won the Taylor Foundation Prize in 2010. He participated with seven sculptures at the important exhibition Le corps decouvert at the Institut du Monde Arabe, from March to August 2012.
